Profiler’s Gunnedah Cup selection was out of character today as he settled towards the rear early and failed to produce his usual strong finish. The gelding, prepared by Craig Martin, did not appear to be in the same condition as his previous start, where he secured a dominant victory. Jockey Ben Looker did his utmost to encourage a late surge, but Invincible Red was unable to display his trademark acceleration in the closing stages. While the result was disappointing, it does not accurately reflect his ability. Based on his previous form, this effort can be overlooked, as he is capable of far better performances. A return to his best seems highly likely in upcoming outings.
