Profiler's only qualifier lined up today under seemingly favourable conditions, with several key factors in her favour. As a known back-marker, her usual running style was expected; however, the ride today differed markedly from her most recent performance. The effort from the saddle lacked the level of intent and tactical awareness we have come to expect, and in our view, it fell significantly short of what was required to give the mare her best chance. It was quite frankly, one of the most disappointing riding displays observed by the HR team for a very long time. The mare has shown sufficient ability to be competitive but based on today’s performance, we do not believe she was ridden with the intent to secure the best possible placing.
