The seasoned mare displayed great resilience, leading for the majority of the 1600-meter contest. However, the sustained effort took its toll in the latter stages. Despite Krogh’s determination, the mare had exhausted her reserves before the crucial final push, fading late to finish fifth. Some jockeys excel in conserving their mount’s energy, while others fall short. Krogh's ride, unfortunately, left room for improvement. With a more tactically astute rider aboard next start, this mare should have a significantly better chance. A definite Black Book prospect.
