As expected, Oceans Above settled back early, but today he dropped further than usual — a tactical position that ultimately asked too much of him. He produced his customary late surge, finishing strongly, but the deficit proved just beyond reach. He’s a talented horse, no doubt, but today’s setup stretched him past his typical rhythm. A near miss, and worth following again.

Sky Heart was ridden perfectly by Harry Bentley and in the home stretch the pair took the lead away from the early leaders and surged clear in fine fashion. Unfortunately they were beaten by powerful closer Huge Wave at the post.
